It has been a long time coming, but here is Norman Moody's debut recording, Moody Waters. A terrific keyboardist, with a unique, smooth and easy-flowing vocal style, Moody shows that his talents as a songwriter stand just as clearly as his onstage prowess. Every song is a Norman Moody original. They're complex pieces at times, but all have a flair that easily catches one's ear. Songs such as "When The Blues Come Knockin'" or "Here Comes Trouble" are the type of songs that can stay in your mind long after they've finished playing.

Norman has worked in the Portland area for many years now, and the friends that he has made are found in no short supply here. Many of them are among the city's elite musicians. It's hard to deny your own status when you can bring folks like Duffy Bishop, Lloyd Jones and Robbie Laws into your sessions. Perhaps the most noticeable aspect of this CD is the outstanding guitar work that highlights Norman's vocals. Besides Laws and Jones, the strings are ablaze from the fretwork of Rick Roadman, Josh Fulero and A.C. Porter.

The result of a lifetime of exceptional musicianship, Norman Moody has captured the path of his career to date with a recording that speaks of pride and love for his craft. This is a very pleasing recording. Hopefully it is the beginning of more to come!
