    The 21st Annual Cathedral Park Jazz Festival is a sumptuous delight just waiting for you to experience. Combining again with the Blue Heron Music Festival, on Friday night, July 20th, Cathedral Park hosts The 21st Annual Cathedral Park Jazz Festival, Saturday, July 21st and Sunday, July 22nd.

    A weekend of some of the finest local, national and international legends of Jazz and Blues. This year's lineup promises to be so tantalizing that it will lick at your toes and engulf you with a mood that will cause your senses to reel. How can it get any better than this?

Eddie Cotton plays Blues Night at the Cathedral Park Jazz Festival    The experience begins with "BLUES" on Friday, July 20th at 6 pm with The Blues Police. Then. at 7 pm, it's Junkyard Jane, and at 9 pm, Eddie Cotton.

    The JAZZ Festival kicks off on Saturday at noon, with the lively traditional sounds of the Castle Jazz Band, with Tall Jazz following at 2 pm, then fabulous vocalist and Jazz Society Hall of Fame member Nancy King and her long-time collaborator, Steve Christofferson, take over the stage at 4 pm. The Bobby Torres Ensemble will let loose with a hot 17 piece Latin Big Band for the evening session, starting at 6 pm.

    Sunday opens at noon with Three Fifths Compromise, a student group directed by Thara Memory. Guitarist Dan Balmer takes over at 2 pm, followed at 4 pm by drummer Donny Osborne's band, with the lovely and sultry vocalist, Victoria Corrigan. Internationally acclaimed guitarist, Larry Coryell, who has not played in Oregon very often, headlines the show. He performs with the Carlton Jackson Band at 6 pm.

    The backdrop of the 2001 Festival is the intimate setting of a natural amphitheater on the grassy rolling hillside, under the monolithic cathedral arches of the majestic St. Johns Bridge. What a relaxing place to spend a sunny afternoon in what seems like your own backyard.

    This Blues and Jazz Festival offers a irresistible variety of food and beverage vendors. The beer garden offerings will be the best of Full Sail Brewing and Oak Knoll Winery. There is a medley of non-food vendors and information booths that enhance the community festival atmosphere. This all makes for the premier Portland Summer event to be at!

    The annual Cathedral Park Jazz Festival is a musical journey that speaks more about the classic American experience and the celebration of life than anything else in the Metro region.
