On July 27th, The Cascade Bar & Grill will be the place to be
as Rod Price takes the stage for what is promised to be a
memorable evening for everyone who is a fan of pure Chicago-type slide
guitar-driven Blues. Rod has been in the Northwest promoting his
debut solo CD, "Open", on Portland Oregon-based Blues label Burnside
Records, so if you missed his set at the Waterfront
Blues Festival, here is another chance to catch him before he slides out
of town.
Of course, fans will recognize Rod as the previous lead guitar player for Foghat, but what most people don't know is that he has also spent time working with, and learning from, such Blues greats as Champion Jack Dupree, Duster Bennett, Eddie Kirkland, Muddy Waters, John Lee Hooker, Willie Dixon, and Honey Boy Edwards. After decades of touring with Foghat, Rod has finally stepped away from the `70s icon-Rock, shed the long hair and has focused his passion of what he loves the most, "The Blues". "Open", Rod's newest recording, has been getting great reviews from the USA to the UK and from "Living Blues" Magazine, "If you're looking for Blues-Rock with the emphasis on Rock and an abundance of guitar-slinger strut, "Open" is the place to stop." "Vintage Guitar" Magazine hails Rod as "one of the best slide players in the business."
Co-sponsored by the Cascade Blues Association, this evening of fiery slide Blues guitar will rock you, roll you and keep you on the edge of your seat (or out on the dance floor), plus, all card-carrying members of the CBA will receive $1 off at the door. Come early to get a good seat, have some dinner and get ready for the night of your life. No slow-rides this evening-just a fun night full of great Blues!
