Blues from the Inland Empire visits Portland

On Saturday night, September 15th, The Cascade Bar & Grill will be the place to be as Pat Coast and Out Of The Blue takes the stage for what promises to be a memorable evening for everyone who likes the rockin' side of the Blues. Pat Coast and Out Of The Blue is a six-piece band that has been getting a lot of attention in the Inland Northwest and is now making their Portland / Vancouver area debut with a CD Release Party at the Cascade Bar & Grill in Vancouver.

The band's newest CD, "Pat Coast and Out Of The Blue `Live' with Jan Danielson", released on a new label, R.L.S. Live Productions ^™, was recorded at an "R.L.S. Live" concert this past April and has been getting enthusiastic responses. The CD features Spokane area singer / songwriter / keyboardist, Jan Danielson, singing three of her own songs, as well as five songs of Coast's. The CD is rounded out with a song by Johnny "Guitar" Watson and one from Portland area favorite, Lloyd Jones. Coast's band is a solid and tight group, comprised of members from two of the Inland Empire's top bands, Cafe Blue and Mumbo Jumbo. Coast is predominantly featured on guitar and is compared to the likes of Chris Cain and Robben Ford by "Blues Access" Magazine. He won Empire Blues Awards for best "Blues Guitarist" the past two years, as well as "Best Band" and "Best CD" for last year's, "Play Somethin' We Can Dance To". He also fronts the band and writes all the original material. Coast also has former Cafe Blue bandmate and three-time Empire Award winner, Bill Bancroft, on drums, bassist Larry Brown from the DeSotos, and Empire Award winner and former Mumbo Jumbo member, Dave Winslow, on piano and Hammond B-3. The band also features the award winning horn duo of Mike Lenke on trumpet and Chuck Swanson on alto and tenor sax, both of whom played with Mumbo Jumbo and Cafe Blue.

Co-sponsored by the Cascade Blues Association, this evening of rockin' Blues should keep you out on the dance floor most of the evening, plus, all card-carrying members of the CBA will receive $1 off at the door. Come early to get a good seat, have some dinner and get ready for a great show and a night of fun and Blues!
