Milwaukie's Neighborhood Associations Present:

A Benefit Concert
For the Families of the
Terrorist Attack Victims

Duffy Bishop to play Benefit Concert    The Duffy Bishop Band will headline a bill of regional Blues greats on Sunday, November 11th to raise money for the families victimized by the terrorist attacks waged on the World Trade Center on September 11th, 2001.

The event "Songs for September 11th, The Milwaukie to Manhattan Aid Project" will be held at the vacant Southgate Theater at 9600 SE Main, near McLoughlin, in Milwaukie. The show will begin at 4 pm, and will extend until 8 pm. The event is held in conjunction with Milwaukie High's nationally recognized Living History Day and the Fleet Reserve Association's Veteran's Day Parade, which is to be staged in downtown Milwaukie prior to the benefit concert.

Other Blues artists donating their time and talents include the Robbie Laws Band, Richard Day-Reynolds Band, Kinzel & Hyde and Steve Millen.

Every penny of the proceeds will go to the families who lost someone in the World Trade Center terrorist attack of September 11th.  In that same spirit, everyone participating in the event, from the entertainers, to the food vendors, to the ticket takers, will be donating their services in order to make their personal contribution to the relief effort.

Leaders of Milwaukie's Neighborhood Associations are organizing the event and they say their efforts are borne out of a simple desire to help in anyway they can.

Organizers are still looking for volunteers to help run the event.

"We're looking for anyone who wants to help out," Historic Milwaukie Neighborhood Association Chair, Ed Zumwalt, said. People interested in distributing flyers, collecting donations, working the vending booths or chipping in any way they can are asked to call Ed at 503 654-2493.

Tickets are $10 and can be purchased through Zumwalt or at the theater's box office prior to the show. For more information, please call Ed Zumwalt at the above number.
