Fresh off his newest, well received recording last year titled, "Sweet
Tea", Blues Legend Buddy Guy returns to play The
Roseland Theater. It's been at least five years since Buddy
has headlined a show at the Roseland. His return is scheduled for Friday
evening, February 15th at 9 pm (21 & over).
Buddy is a multi-Grammy winner and a Blues performer who is hotter than ever right now. He deserves the wealth of accolades he has received over the last decade; he's earned them. As Buddy told me one time when he was in town with the B.B. King tour, "It's so nice to be appreciated and it's better late than never". Buddy's been playin' the Blues now for well over 45 years and at close to 65 years old, Buddy Guy is on top of his game!
Buddy is one of the finest Blues electric guitar players to ever handle the instrument. It's been well documented that Eric Clapton, who's considered one of the finest electric guitar heroes, himself, considers Buddy to be the "very best".
Buddy is more than just a fantastic guitar player, he's a first-class showman. He enjoys singing and playing so much that his continuous smile while performing and his articulation with his audience tells all. Buddy Guy is a man "doin' his thing" and lovin' it! That's contagious. He's fiery and he's passionate. Most of all, he's entertaining and satisfying to watch. You never want to miss this Guy (Buddy Guy) when he comes to our town to perform, it's always nothing short of an incredible time.
Upcoming young Blues talent, Joe Bonamassa, will open the show. Bonamassa was just four years old when he was seized by the desire to play guitar. He first got B.B. King's attention when he was 12 while playing in a band that opened for B.B. at a concert in upstate New York. B.B. said, "Joe's potential is so great that he hasn't begun to scratch the surface - He's one of a kind, a legend before his time." As a teenager, Joe went on to be lead guitarist for the critically acclaimed EMI recording group, Bloodline, a group who featured the sons of Miles Davis, Robbie Krieger from the Doors, and Berry Oakley from the Allman Brothers Band.
