All in One Show???  No way!!  - YES, way!!! - March 16th!!!

Little CHarlie & the Nightcats    An incredible evening of Blues is on tap for Saturday evening, March 16th at The Crystal Ballroom in downtown Portland.  This top-notch night of music includes veteran Blues hero, John Hammond, along with two of the most popular Contemporary Blues artists touring today, Little Charlie & The Nightcats and Charlie Musselwhite.

Little Charlie & The Nightcats will open the night's festivities with their patented showcase of great thrills and fun-filled entertainment. Over their many years of performing in The Rose City, they have become one of the Blues fans, and music fans in general, favorite out-of-town acts.  Rick Estrin is one of those "larger than life" characters who once you see him you'll never forget, both for the way he dresses and his performance (singing & blowin' the harmonica). Rick's a real special musician.  His harp work is a delight, as are his vocals. Little Charlie (Bate) is truly an amazing guitarist.  He plays various styles, all superbly, but is most at home on the more sophisticated stylings of "greats" like Tiny Grimes, Barney Kessell and Charlie Christian, guitarists of the '30s & '40s. Little Charlie is a very tasty guitar player indeed.  He really swings! The Nightcats are top-drawer all the way, no doubt about it!

Charlie Musselwhite is a three-time Grammy nominee and 10-time WC Handy Award winner.  He is a contemporary of the late Paul Butterfield, and got his start in Chicago sitting in with Muddy Waters and playing with his then roommate, Big Joe Williams. Since then, Musselwhite has consistently redefined the musical boundaries of the Blues.  He has a brand new CD out on the Telarc label titled, "One Night In America", with a heavy Country feel that lends credence to that fact.  His current touring band provides a high-energy set of hard driving Blues, which has been exciting crowds everywhere they perform. Charlie Musselwhite is a true, "living Blues legend" and a "must see" any time he's in town.

John Hammond is a Bluesman extraordinaire, with more than 35 years of experience playing both acoustic and electric Blues.  His talents on the guitar and harmonica are legendary, his vocal style is passionately unique, and he is currently playing some of the best music of his life.  John will be performing with his full band for this evening's show and they will close this special night of music with a blistering set of "down-home" Blues.

This triple bill shapes up to be one of the best performances so far this year - Don't miss it!
