The Trail's End Saloon & the CBA Present:Terry HanckSaxaphone Powerhouse, Vocalist and Songwriter Saturday, April 27th - 9:30 pm |
Triple threat sax player, vocalist and songwriter, Terry Hanck, will return to the area performing at the Trail's End Saloon in Oregon City on Saturday evening, April 27th starting at 9:30 pm for what looks to be a superb evening of soulful and energetic Blues.
Hanck's performance at last year's Waterfront Blues Festival
gained him many new fans here in the Pacific Northwest. His fiery R&B
laced sax playing, coupled with his raw, gutsy vocal delivery, made a lot of
Blues fans at the WFBF sit up and take notice of this veteran musician.
Terry Hanck is a sought-after sideman in the genre of Blues and has performed with a ton of great names in the field including Big Joe Turner, Etta James, Albert Collins, Robert Cray, Charlie Musselwhite, and a host of others. Terry played saxophone in Elvin Bishop's band for 10 years in the `70s and `80s. Elvin states, "Terry Hanck is a fine vocalist, an amazing showman and my favorite sax player!" Coming from one of the "best showmen" in the business, that about says it all when talking about Terry Hanck.
Hanck's music today draws upon a wide repertoire of song styles, including New Orleans Gumbo, Kansas City Jump and East Bay Funk. Many of the songs he performs are Hanck's own original compositions. He is currently touring in support of his second CD on the Mo Muscle Records label titled, "I Keep On Holdin' On", which features guest performances by "well respected" Blues guitarists, Junior Watson and Portland's own, Lloyd Jones.
Saturday night, April 27th, is a prime opportunity to see and hear a full evening of this legendary horn man, "up close and personal", in the tasty roadhouse setting of the "Muddy Award" winning Trail's End Saloon. Don't you dare miss it!
This is a CBA co-sponsored event, which means $1 off (at the door) to CBA card-carrying members. For more info on the show, call the Trail's End Saloon at (503) 656-3031
- See ya there!
