Camp Withycombe - September 28th

A Tribute to John Lee Hooker

Oregon GI Blues Music Festival    Greetings, brothers and sisters.  The homeless population in our nation has increasingly gotten worse, especially since our economy took such a hit ... when I say our economy, I mean the United States, collectively, but most importantly right here, in our great state of Oregon.

The Oregon GI Blues Music Festival (OGIBMF) is committed to our community and in making available the resources of this premier event. The OGIBMF has made TRANSITION PROJECTS of Portland a beneficiary. OGIBMF over the years will bring awareness to great organizations.

TRANSITION PROJECTS: A HOMELESS RESOURCE CENTER THAT SERVES MORE THAN 9,000 HOMELESS PERSONS IN OREGON EACH YEAR. IN ADDITION, THEY PROVIDE FOOD, SHELTER, AND ACCESS TO CASE MANAGEMENT FOR EACH INDIVIDUAL WHO IS IN NEED. TRANSITION PROJECTS IS THE LARGEST PROVIDER OF SHELTER AND EMERGENCY CARE FOR HOMELESS, SINGLE ADULTS IN THE PORTLAND METROPOLITAN AREA.

The OGIBMF has received the blessings of Ms. Zakiya Hooker and THE JOHN LEE HOOKER FOUNDATION, and we are pleased to be one of the first acknowledged events to honor such a great Blues legend.

THE JOHN LEE HOOKER FOUNDATION: TO SUPPORT THE UNDERPRIVILEGED, UNDERREPRESENTED AND AT RISK YOUTH IN MUSIC & ARTS EDUCATION WILL RECEIVE A PORTION OF OGIBMF 2002 PROCEEDS.

Okay no more cluckin' 'round here "bruthers, sistas and itty bitty ones",'o da Blues.  The OGIBMF wants you to know this event is the one event all can enjoy!  There will be a licensed day care facility on site, so come one, come all to the OGIBMF!
