In Memory Of

John Engel

Rest In Peace

John Engel    This has proven to be the hardest thing I have ever writtenJohn Engel was my friend, as well as a fellow CBA Board Member, and his passing on March 31st at the age of only 48 was, to say the least, a shock!   John worked for the City of Beaverton as the Program Manager of Redevelopment & CDBG.   This only reflected his attitude toward life.  Being one of the truly caring people I have known, John worked endlessly to improve the life of everyone he came in contact with.  Loving life and people with the same intensity and going out of his way to see that all were comfortable and happy.  John had been with the CBA for only a short time, since September 2001, but was fully involved in the Association.  He worked on the Willamette Delta Showcase, the Musician's Relief Fund, and the CBA's "Muddy Awards", putting forth a 100% effort with each involvement.

John is survived by a daughter, Teri (13), two brothers, a sister and his wonderful mother, not to mention the countless friends who loved him.

There has been a memorial fund set up to benefit John's daughter:

John T. Engel Memorial Account

BROTHER JOHN WILL TRULY BE MISSED BY ALL WHO KNEW HIM!

Due to the BluesNotes deadline, this was written before the Memorial & Celebration of John's life, April 21st, at The West Side Bar & Grill, but I do want to thank all the great musicians and friends of John's who did stop by.

Goodbye my friend!
