    In addition to the more than 80 Blues and Blues-related acts that will be entertaining the crowds at The Safeway Waterfront Blues Festival, there will also be a number of special events that most Blues fans will not want to miss. Bill Rhoades' Annual Harmonica Blow-Off The 2nd annual Blow-Off, hosted by Bill Rhoades, KBOO-FM Blues DJ and harmonica ace, will feature Austin's Gary Primich, Boise's John Nemeth, Raful & Kenny Neal from Baton Rouge, and Portland's own Paul deLay and Curtis Salgado (the Blow-Off features Festival artists only). The all-star Portland rhythm section of Johnny Moore on drums, Don Campbell on bass, and Alan Hager & Josh Fulero on guitars, will no doubt be joined by other Festival artists hoping to get in on this feisty jam. Blues Cruise on the Portland Spirit An after-hours cruise on the luxurious dinner ship Portland Spirit, featuring the music of Kenny & Raful Neal, Jimmy Thackery & The Drivers, the Rev. Billy C. Wirtz and other guests. The cruise boards at 10:30 PM at the Salmon Street Springs, and returns at 1:30 AM.
