Ethos, Inc & the CBA Present:

Blues In The Schools

August 2002 Update

We have been doing BIS shows all summer! Last month, we were at the City of Hillsboro's Tuesday Market (with guests Richard Harris and Willie Lawrence) doing a traditional music family show. We also did a BIS at the Salem Arts Fair and for Ethos at the Salvation Army Kid's Camp on NE Killingsworth.

This month, we will do a family show opening up for Joan Baez at the Albany Arts and Air show at Timber Linn Park, 8-17.

Ethos, Inc. - Dedicated to Music and Music Education    Any performers wanting to come aboard that have not already signed up need to send a demo and curricula to Nathan at Ethos. You can telephone 503-241-8824, e-mail Nathan@ethos-inc.com or mail to 27 NE Killingsworth St., Portland, OR 97211.

This fall we will do the very last BIS benefit concert that I will produce. It has been a great pleasure and a real honor to put them on! Instead of asking for the money up-front from our membership, we will ask only that you attend. It is crucial to our BIS program that you actually attend this fundraiser! Tickets will be on sale for a reasonable amount, and we will provide stellar musicians from the area to regale you with their dulcet tones. The concert will begin in the early evening for all of you early birds. Our raffle will go on same as before, and we will ask for donations to the raffle table. I personally guarantee this benefit concert to actually top all of the others and they were all great! More information regarding the benefit will be forthcoming at the general assembly and through our beloved BluesNotes.

Look for BIS leadership through the Board of Directors and individual members. We have the greatest organization in the CBA, and I have all the faith in the world in our ability to keep this Arts program alive!

Until the next time,
