The Fez Ballroom and the CBA Present

Coco Montoya at the
Fez Ballroom

Thursday, September 26th

Attention all Blues guitar lovers! Coco Montoya will be returning to Portland for a special engagement at The Fez Ballroom (316 SW 11th upstairs, across the street from Djangos Records) on Thursday, September 26th at 9 p.m.

Currently touring for his Alligator Records debut, Can't Look Back, Montoya will be offering selections from that release, as well as favorites from his previous material. This show is guaranteed to be intense, featuring Coco's soulful vocals with pyrotechnic guitar skills that can only be honed by sheer commitment to one's craft. The years have been good to Montoya as he has worked his way through the ranks with Albert Collins in the 1970s and with John Mayall's Bluesbreakers in the '80s, before stretching out into a stellar solo career.

As Billboard magazine puts it, "In a world of Blues guitar pretenders, Coco Montoya is the real McCoy. Be prepared to get scorched." And here's your chance to do just that in the intimate setting of The Fez Ballroom. If you haven't been to The Fez before, it's quite the cozy atmosphere. Imagine your parents' old party room on steroids and you have a good idea. It'll definitely be the place to be on a Thursday night in late September, and Blues guitar at its finest should be raising the roof for sure!

The Fez Ballroom is located at 316 SW 11th in downtown Portland. This is a CBA co-sponsored event. All card-carrying members will receive a $1 discount at the door.
