The Steinhaus New Blues Venue on SE 82nd

    If you are looking for an intimate setting to hear some of Portland's very best Blues acts, the Steinhaus on SE 82^nd & Division is the place to be! Owned and operated by veteran bar manager and tender Jim, the Steinhaus features excellent cocktails and exotic beers, as well as freshly prepared steakhouse menu selections. Although the entire building accommodates roughly 50 people at a time, the cozy atmosphere lends itself well to fine performances by some of the top-rated Blues acts in the area. In fact, the Steinhaus has even attracted the attention of the national act Del Rey, and regional performer Steve James, who appeared there in August.

    The room, food, beverages and staff are all first-rate! The acts featured on a regular basis include Terry Robb, Kinzel & Hyde, Aaron Black Band, Wags, and several other groups, solos and duos. Jim has strived to keep the volume down, and the Steinhaus can't be beat for reasonable volume with plenty of heartfelt pickin', wailin', and singin' going on. There is a lovely parquet dance area and pool tables are offered in a side gaming room. Jim has all of the state-sanctioned gambling games in a different side-room, and there are plenty of machines available for the gaming set.

    Jim has quietly set out to offer many of our most loved Blues and Roots acts, and he is getting a good response from musicians and customers alike. His dedication to providing his clientele with the very best acts possible has seen a real increase in customers. Because the whole experience of the Steinhaus is so wonderful, many folks are coming in during the week just for dinner and drinks whether there is music or not!
