The Cascade Bar & Grill and the CBA Present

Terry Hanck at the
Cascade Bar & Grill

Friday, September 13th

Honk if you love the Blues! Well, you know there's going to be plenty of honkin' on Friday, September 13th at 9 p.m., when Terry Hanck rolls back into town to appear at the Cascade Bar & Grill. Sax-honkin', that is! Terry Hanck is one of the West Coast's most gifted masters when it comes to blowing a saxophone. There's a lot of conviction and power behind those hefty breaths supplying that jumpin' groove, and if you're a fan of horn-based Blues, then this is the show for you. A longtime Bay Area favorite, Hanck has worked with many of Northern California's most renowned artists. He has appeared with people like John Lee Hooker and was a member of the Elvin Bishop Band for a while. His sax style is a blend of New Orleans rhythms and Kansas City-based jump mixed with the right amount of Funk. So you know that you're in line for some classic Blues sounds.

Terry's performance last summer at the Safeway Waterfront Blues Festival was one of that event's surprise highlights, featuring the amazing guitar playing of young Chris "The Kid" Anderson, fresh from Norway. Also in the band: on bass, Michael "Fly" Brooks and on drums, Butch Cousins. Expect this outing to be every bit as exciting as before and be sure to pick up a copy of Terry's latest CD, I Keep On Holdin' On, while you're there. Full of fire, the saxophone as a Blues instrument doesn't get much more of a workout than in the hands of Terry Hanck.

The Cascade Bar & Grill is located at 15000 SE Mill Plain Blvd., Vancouver, WA. This is a CBA co-sponsored event. All card-carrying members will receive a $1 discount at the door.
